The Pleasant High School Library is a resource center for student learning. In the library, students are encouraged to embrace their Information literacy skills to locate and utilize both print and electronic materials. The collection consists of over nine-thousand fiction, non-fiction, reference, audio-visual and electronic titles. In addition to the multitudes of print and electronic resources available to students and staff, the library is also equipped with a computer lab suitable to serve the needs of classes of students working independently, or to meet the needs of groups of students working collaboratively. The staff of Pleasant High School also utilizes the Library's resources to supplement curriculum, bolster content, differentiate instruction and reinforce student understanding of academic concepts. Our goal is to develop a love for reading, and the intrinsic motivation for lifelong-learning within each and every student. The Pleasant community surrounding the schools is also encouraged to utilize the library' s resources. Most often the historical data from Pleasant Township and that of Marion County, Ohio are utilized. The plethora of wartime history books are also popular among the community's historians and veterans that visit the library. Also popular with students and the community is the extensive collection of Pleasant High School yearbooks dating from 1959-present. These are often utilized to organize class reunions and when reminiscing at school functions. |
